Wormery Bedding Coir Block 650g
Wormery Bedding Coir Block 650g is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
Coconut coir is an excellent material for wormeries. It holds moisture without becoming waterlogged and provides space for air to circulate two things composting worms need to thrive. This compressed coir block expands to 10–11 litres when hydrated and is ideal for new or existing worm bins.
Create the Right Conditions for Worm Composting
The texture of coir helps balance out the high moisture levels released by food waste. It breaks apart easily, creating a soft and loose bedding layer that worms can move through without stress. Use it alongside food waste and paper bedding for best results.
To prepare your coir, just add water gradually until the block is fully expanded and damp throughout. The material is then ready to be spread in your wormery. Alternatively, add it dry to help manage excess moisture inside the bin.
This coir block isn't just limited to wormeries. It works well in soil mixes for container growing, especially where you want to improve drainage or increase water retention. Use it as a sustainable soil amendment in garden beds or pots alongside compost and other materials.
