Winter Tree Wash is available in two convenient options to suit every garden. Choose the 500ml concentrate, which makes up to 10 litres of spray for larger trees and regular treatments, or the 500ml ready-to-use spray, ideal for smaller fruit trees and bushes with no mixing required.
Winter Tree Wash for Natural Fruit Tree Protection
Designed to help protect fruit trees from winter moth and other overwintering pests, Winter Tree Wash is suitable for apple, pear, plum and cherry trees, as well as gooseberry, blackcurrant, redcurrant, blackberry and raspberry bushes. Regular winter application helps reduce overwintering pests that can damage leaves, blossom and developing fruit the following growing season.
Winter Tree Moth Damage on Fruit Trees
Winter moth feeding damage is most noticeable in summer when the leaves are fully expanded and the holes created during spring become larger as the leaves grow.
Blossom and developing fruit can also be damaged. Early feeding on apples often develops into deep grazing scars by the time the fruit reaches full size in late summer, reducing both appearance and crop quality.
Winter Tree Wash for Fruit Tree Protection
Winter Tree Wash is made from a natural blend of plant and fish oils that cleans bark surfaces by removing dirt, dust and debris. By creating a cleaner surface, insects find it much more difficult to attach, hide and protect their eggs, helping to reduce overwintering pest populations before spring arrives.
Suitable for edible and ornamental plants, it can be used outdoors or under glass as part of a regular winter fruit tree care programme.
How Winter Tree Wash Works
Rather than relying on conventional pesticides, Winter Tree Wash works by thoroughly cleaning the bark and coating the surface, making it more difficult for pests to establish and lay eggs.
It helps control the eggs, larvae and nymphs of aphids and other common overwintering pests on:
- Apple trees
- Pear trees
- Plum trees
- Cherry trees
- Gooseberry bushes
- Blackcurrant bushes
- Redcurrant bushes
- Blackberry bushes
- Raspberry canes

Directions for Use
500ml Concentrate: For best results, apply during calm, dry conditions from late September through to February. Treat fruit trees after leaf fall and before buds begin to break in spring. Dilute 50ml of concentrate per litre of water, then spray thoroughly over all bark surfaces, paying particular attention to branch junctions, bark crevices and other areas where pests may overwinter.
500ml Ready-to-Use Spray: Shake well before use. Apply during calm, dry conditions from late September through to February. Spray directly onto trunks, branches and bark surfaces until evenly covered, ensuring branch junctions, bark crevices and other sheltered areas are thoroughly treated. No dilution is required.
Always test on a small inconspicuous area 24 hours before use if overspray may come into contact with surfaces other than the tree, such as concrete, brickwork or painted surfaces.
