Fruit cages can be supplied with a choice of netting. Bird and fruit netting has 17mm x 17mm mesh on the sides and 20mm x 20mm mesh on the roof. Soft butterfly and green soft butterfly netting both use 7mm x 5mm mesh, which helps stop cabbage white butterflies. Green bird netting is also available with 20mm x 20mm mesh. A frame only option with no netting is also offered.

Each aluminium fruit cage is supplied with a separate roof section that can be lifted off when snow is forecast. This prevents weight from building up on the frame or netting. If heavy winds or snow are expected, the fruit cage can be dismantled and reassembled later when conditions improve.
