Top of the range, no-turn, Aerobin hot garden outdoor composter.

This highly efficient, 600 litre hot garden composter benefits from an internal lung meaning the days of having to turn compost are over. This nifty design ensures the compost stays tightly compact to hold in the heat and an added moisture recirculation system aids for much quicker composting in just 90 days.

This 600 litre hot garden Airobin composter, boasts an impressive design which enables the internal environment to be exceptionally efficient for healthy aerobic (hot) composting in almost all outdoor climates.
The humid conditions allow healthy decomposer microorganisms to breakdown the contents, extracting the nitrogen and carbon from the waste and leaving in its place a nutrient dense, organic material.

Thanks to its thick insulation system, nutritious compost takes only 90 days to process. It is then ready to use for all your garden plant and flower needs!
This hot garden bin also comes with a hose extension kit which enables easier extraction of the liquid fertiliser (leachate). This rich, nutrient dense liquid should start collecting in the leachate tank of the hot Aerobin within 4-6 weeks of use followed by the compost that will start to build in the base within 8-12 weeks of use.

Did you know hot garden composting is a sustainable solution that not only benefits you, (with a wholesome alternative to industrial fertiliser for your garden) but it also benefits the environment as a simple and effective way to reduce your household waste that goes to landfill.

Problem solving:

Problem:

When too wet:

  • Compost not heating up
  • Bad smell
  • Not decomposing well

Solution:

  • Take out the material and add back in with layers of dry, brown, garden material (leaves, sawdust, wood shavings).

Newspaper (if scrunched up/shredded) counts as brown material and will help.

If larger leaves and garden material not decomposing, shred into smaller pieces.

Problem:

When too dry:

  • Not decomposing

Solution:

  • Take out the material, and start the process again. Take care to layer, dry brown garden materials between wet, green materials (grass, kitchen scraps, other plant material).
  • If compost is too dry, it becomes water repellent and is difficult to re-wet.
  • Avoid putting dry garden materials in hot bin, unless mixed or moistened with wet, green materials.

Problem:

Insects

  • Garden compost hot bin attracting insects

Solution:

  • It is normal to have flies and small insects in and around the hot garden compost bin. They are a natural part of decomposition.

If these insects are annoying, cover with shredded paper, grass clippings or use a pyrethrum spray.
