This high quality capillary matting is ideal for use on greenhouses benches, and indoors for holiday watering. This high-quality matting provides even water distribution across flat surfaces, keeping plants well-hydrated with minimal effort.

This capillary matting provides even water distribution stopping excess watering, using capillary action, it draws water upwards from a reservoir (sink or a bucket) and distributes it evenly across the matting’s surface, allowing plant roots to absorb moisture through their pots. This ensures optimal hydration, reducing the need for frequent manual watering and promoting healthy plant growth.

Capillary Matting Properties

Made from wood pulp and polyester this capillary matting is a highly absorbent material and can hold up to 2.8 litres (6 pints) of water per square metre, with a capillary lift of 6 cm. This allows water to travel efficiently through the matting, keeping plants hydrated over an extended period.

How to Use Capillary Matting

Place the matting green side facing up, to maintain continuous moisture flow, cut a piece of the matting to use as a wick, the wick needs to touch the bottom of the water source and overlap the matting with the plants on by at least 3 cm., drawing water up from the reservoir and ensuring the matting remains moist.

Always water the matting and plants when setting up to activate the capillary action.
