Vine Weevil Nematodes (12 sqm )
Vine Weevil Nematodes (12 sqm ) is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
Vine weevil nematodes (Steinernema kraussei) target vine weevil larvae living in soil around plant roots. Each treatment introduces microscopic transparent worms that enter the larva and stop further damage before it begins. This natural approach helps manage infestations during active pest stages.
Vine Weevil Nematodes for Seasonal Use
Use vine weevil nematodes in late spring and early autumn when larvae are most active. Apply to pots and open ground from March to May and again from August to October. Autumn treatments are often more successful because the larvae are younger and have caused less harm to plants.
How Vine Weevil Nematodes Target Larvae
Once added to moist soil above 5ºC, the nematodes move through the soil and locate vine weevil larvae. They feed and reproduce inside the larvae, bringing this pest stage to an end. For high levels of infestation, a second application can improve results and break the pest life cycle.
Using Vine Weevil Nematodes in Pots and Beds
Apply directly to the soil around plant roots where larvae feed. When used under cover, nematodes can be applied at any time as long as the soil remains above 5ºC. For extra protection, band pots with insect barrier glue to help stop adult pests from climbing in and laying eggs.
Easy Application of Vine Weevil Nematodes
Each pack includes simple instructions and can be applied with a watering can or nematode applicator. Keep soil moist before and after application to support nematode activity. The pack usually has an expiry date of around two weeks.
