Chafer grubs can cause widespread lawn problems by eating away at grass roots, resulting in poor growth and increased pest activity from birds and mammals. This treatment introduces natural nematodes into the soil, which actively seek out and eliminate the larvae, reducing population numbers and promoting root health.

How to Spot Chafer Grub Damage

Common signs include yellow or bare patches where grass lifts away easily due to missing roots. Look for birds and animals regularly disturbing the turf, these signs typically indicate a chafer grub problem. Early identification followed by nematode application is the best way to stop the cycle before it worsens.

Application Guidance for Chafer Nematodes

Apply when soil temperatures are above 10ºC and the ground is moist. The ideal time is in April or May for spring treatment, and again between August to early October. Use a watering can or nematode applicator. Keep soil damp for at least 2 weeks after application. Avoid application during drought or frozen conditions.

Unlike chemical pesticides, nematodes are naturally occurring organisms that work with your garden’s ecosystem. They enter the larvae through natural body openings and release bacteria that kill the host from within. This method disrupts the life cycle without harmful side effects or chemical residue.

Each pack is suitable for treating up to 500m² of lawn area. As this is a live product, it must be used before the expiry date. Store in a refrigerator upon arrival and follow the instructions carefully for optimal results. Due to its short shelf life, this product is non-returnable.
