How to Conduct a pH Soil Test

Take a sample of soil from approximately 4 inches below the surface.

Remove the cap from the tube and remove the capsule inside.

Fill the tube with dry soil up to the first line.

Carefully open the capsule and pour the powder into the tube.

Add water (preferably bottled) to the fourth line.

Replace the cap and shake the tube thoroughly.

Allow the soil to settle.

Compare the colour of the solution to the pH chart at the bottom of the box.
