Organic Tomato Seeds Ace 55

Organic Tomato Ace 55 or to give it it's Latin name: Solanum Lycopersicum is a large fleshy heirloom tomato with a mild flavour and low amounts of acidity. From organic seed it will grow with robust bushy plants and large fleshy fruits. It has resistance to Verticillium and Fusarium, making it a hardy variety. It is an ideal tomato plant for growers who have a lack of space as it requires no support to grow.

An average of 10 seeds per pack.

Sow: From January to April

Harvest: From June to October

For Indoor Sowing:

When: January to March, for Greenhouse tomato crops. March to April, for outdoor tomato crops.

Where: In pots or trays of seed compost. For ideal solutions see our propagators.

How: Sow thinly, cover with a fine layer of compost. Firm gently and keep moist. Cover with glass, polythene or a propagator lid. Keep at approx. 15-20°C. Tomato seedlings will appear within 7-14 days

Care: Remove the cover when seedlings appear and transplant to individual pots when the tomato seedlings are 10cm tall. Organic Tomato plants need to grow at approx. 15°C

For greenhouse crops: Transplant the tomatoes to growing position in grow bags or large pots in the greenhouse in April or May.

For outdoor crops: Stand outside for a few days in late May to avoid frosts. Transplant to a sunny spot outside, with each tomato around 60cms apart. Provide support with canes if trusses become too heavy. Make sure you keep tomatoes moist and weed free.

Harvest: June to October, outdoor crops can be harvested in August.
