Vine weevil nematodes will stop vine weevil from destroying the roots of your plants. These microscopic transparent worms feed and multiply inside the larva. The nematodes seek out and kill vine weevil larvae.

Apply when the larvae are active in late Spring and early Autumn. High infestations may need two applications.

Apply to pots and open ground March to May and August to October. This is when the vine weevil larvae are present. If applying under cover the pests life cycle is broken and Nemasys Vine Weevil Killer can be applied at any time, as long as the soil is above 5ºC (40ºF). Apply directly to the soil around the roots which is where the larvae will be feeding.

Autumn use is the most effective as the larvae are younger and have not caused significant damage to plants at that time. Banding pots with Insect Barrier Glue will stop the adults from climbing into the pots.

The nematodes come complete with instructions and can be applied using a watering can or nematode applicator. You just apply to moist soil when the soil temperature is above 5ºC (41ºF).

You just apply to moist soil when the soil temperature is above 5ºC (41ºF) and ensure the soil does not dry out for at least two weeks after applying nematodes. Nematodes are capable of surviving the odd frost; so don't worry if the temperature falls after you have applied the nematodes.

How Often Do I Apply Vine Weevil Nematodes: The recommendation is that the nematodes are applied every 6 weeks.
