The LED soil moisture sensor helps you know exactly when to water your house plants. Designed to monitor the moisture level at the root zone, it flashes green when the soil is adequately moist and red when it is too dry. It’s a simple way to keep plants healthy and prevent over or under watering.

Soil Moisture Sensor For Indoor Plants

This soil moisture sensor is designed for use in pots and planters. It checks the condition of the soil and gives a clear visual signal through its LED light. Place the probe directly into the soil near the roots, and it will automatically detect when the moisture level drops below the ideal range for your plant. For a full indoor automatic watering system for all your plants see our indoor watering system.

Easy To Use LED Moisture Sensor

Using the moisture sensor is simple. Insert it into the potting mix and let it measure the soil moisture level. A green light means your plant has enough water, while a red light means it’s time to water. The device helps avoid common watering mistakes that can lead to plant stress or root problems.  In addition, our Quadgrow self watering planters can also assist with recycling water and can optimise moisture levels for 14 days.

Soil Moisture Sensor Sizes

The moisture sensor is available in two sizes to suit different pots and planters. The standard size measures 20cm, while the long version measures 30cm. Choose the size that best matches your container depth to reach the active root zone of your plants.

Requires 1 x AAA battery (not included).

How does the soil moisture sensor work?

The sensor measures changes in soil properties that relate to water content. It then uses those readings to estimate how much moisture is present near the roots.

Can this moisture sensor be used outdoors?

It is designed mainly for indoor pots and planters but can be used outdoors in sheltered conditions.

Does the moisture sensor show when the soil is too wet?

The LED will stay green when moisture levels are balanced, helping you prevent both dryness and over watering.

What battery does the soil moisture sensor use?

It requires one AAA battery, which is not included with the sensor.

Where should I place the moisture sensor in the pot?

Place the probe near the plant’s roots to get the most accurate moisture reading.

Is the moisture sensor suitable for all plant types?

Yes, it can be used for most house plants and potted plants that need regular monitoring of their soil moisture levels.
