Provide a sheltered nesting space for pollinators with this natural willow bee and insect hotel. Designed to support solitary bees and other beneficial insects, it offers a protected place for nesting, resting and overwintering.
The outer frame is hand woven from natural willow, giving a subtle, natural appearance that blends into garden settings without standing out. Inside, the hotel is filled with natural bamboo tubes, which provide suitable hollow chambers for solitary bees.
Insect Hotel with Natural bamboo tubes for solitary bees
The bamboo tubes replicate hollow plant stems commonly used by solitary bees in the wild. These enclosed spaces allow bees to lay eggs and shelter safely, helping encourage repeat use year after year.
Bee Hotel Supports pollination in the garden
Solitary bees play an important role in pollinating flowers, fruit and vegetable crops. Providing a dedicated nesting area can help increase pollinator activity around planted areas and contribute to a balanced garden environment.
Natural willow design
The woven willow casing provides structure while maintaining a natural finish. Measuring 28cm high and 15cm wide, the compact size makes it easy to position in a range of garden locations.
- Suitable for mounting on walls, fences or sheds
- Can be placed near borders, raised beds or flowering plants
- Works well in greenhouses or other sheltered areas
Placement advice
For best results, mount the bee hotel between 1m and 2m above ground level, ideally facing south or south east. Morning sun helps warm the tubes and encourages early activity.
The hotel should be fixed securely, as movement can discourage nesting bees. Solid walls, fences, sheds or sturdy posts are suitable mounting points. If placing in a tree, keep it close to the trunk or larger branches to reduce movement.
Seasonal use
Leave the bee hotel in place all year round. Solitary bees overwinter inside the bamboo tubes and will emerge naturally in spring when temperatures rise.
