Nemaslug slug nematodes are a natural organic pest control which help controls slugs. Slug nematodes are microscopic, transparent worms, which feed and multiply inside the slug.
Easy to apply and completely safe to use around children, pets and wildlife, making it the perfect solution for organic gardening. The less common name is Phasmarhabditis hermaphrodita.
How do Slug Nematodes Work?
Once the nematodes are applied the slugs stop feeding after a few days and die within a week. For total control apply every 6 weeks. Slug nematodes are found naturally in the soil, by applying these you are just topping up.
The nematodes enter the slug and secrete bacteria which kills the slug.
Start your slug control early and apply at least a week before planting to ensure your garden is safe from slugs.
Are Slug Nematodes Easy to Apply
The nematodes come complete with instructions and can be applied using a watering can or nematode applicator. You just apply to moist soil when the soil temperature is above 5ºC (41ºF) and ensure the soil does not dry out for at least two weeks after applying nematodes. Nematodes are capable of surviving the odd frost; so don't worry if the temperature falls after you have applied the nematodes.
