Organic, Peat-Free Seed Compost

This high-quality organic seed compost is designed to create a stable growing environment for seeds during their earliest stages. The natural wool content helps retain moisture evenly, while added comfrey acts as a dynamic accumulator, providing gentle nutrition as seedlings develop.

Its fine yet supportive structure makes it suitable for seed trays, pots, and root trainers, helping seedlings establish strong roots before potting on.

How to Use Wool Compost for Seeds

Loosely fill clean seed trays or pots with Wool Compost™ for Seeds and gently firm the surface. Water lightly so the compost is moist but not waterlogged, then sow seeds sparingly according to packet instructions. Place trays in a warm location, such as a greenhouse or propagator, and label clearly with the seed variety and sowing date.

Once seedlings are established, they can be potted on into Wool Compost™ for continued growth.

Additional Information

This wool compost is made from sheep's wool and bracken which is sourced from the Cumbrian fells. It has been blended to provide the perfect balance of nutrients for growing organic vegetables, fruits, and salads.

It comes with added comfrey; this creates a dynamic accumulator packed with nutrients that is added to the wool compost. It contains very high levels of potassium, phosphorous and nitrogen for incredibly healthy plant growth, as well as larger flowers and bigger crops.

The wool provides a natural water retention and provides a slow release of nitrogen. It also contains high levels of potash which leads to larger crops.
