Our narrow aluminium hoops are for plant protection in smaller areas and for pea and bean frames. Use them with plant covers to form a light garden tunnel over crops. For pea and bean support, cover the frame with jute netting to guide climbing stems. A neat option for covering raised beds and close rows.

Aluminium Hoops Sizes for Raised Beds and Narrow Plots

Erected height is 80 cm after pushing 15 cm into firm soil. Actual hoop height is 95 cm and width is 30 cm. Minimum fabric width is 2 m so the cover drapes well and can be secured at the edges. The size suits narrow beds and compact paths.

How to Use Aluminium Hoops with Plant Covers and Netting

Space the hoops evenly and lay netting or fleece over the frame to reduce pest pressure and weather stress. Raise covers for airflow and lower again when needed through the season.

Garden Hoop Setup with 19 mm Clips and Support Bars

Push each hoop 15 cm into the soil for a steady hold. 19 mm pipe clips are included to secure the cover along the frame. For extra stability on exposed plots, add support bars in two sizes: aluminium hoop support bar 900 mm or cloche support bar 1.2 m. Support bars are shown in images but are not included with the hoops.

Materials and Compatibility

The frame uses 19 mm aluminium for many seasons of use. Each set includes 19 mm pipe clips to hold the cover in place.

Please note: These hoops have a thicker wall than other models in the range, so joiners and extension poles from other sets will not fit these hoops.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can these hoops cover raised beds?

Yes, the 30 cm width and 80 cm erected height make them well suited to covering raised beds and narrow rows.

Do I need support bars in windy areas?

Support bars are optional. Add a 900mm bar or a 1.2m bar for extra stability.

How far into the soil should I push the hoops?

Push each leg 15 cm into firm soil to reach the 80 cm erected height and keep the frame steady.

What fabric width should I choose for the cover?

Use a minimum fabric width of 2 m so the cover drapes over the frame and can be secured at the edges.

Will joiners or extension poles from other sets fit?

No, the wall is thicker than other models in the range, so joiners and extension poles from other sets will not fit.
